Our Core Principle — We Do Not Share Student Data
Valueplacement does not collect, store or share student personal data with employers, third parties or any other organisation. Students can browse and access all opportunities on this site without creating an account or providing any personal information whatsoever.
When a student chooses to apply for an opportunity, they do so by contacting the employer directly. Valueplacement is not involved in that interaction and does not receive or hold any information submitted as part of an application.
What Personal Data We Do Hold
The only personal data held by Valueplacement is information submitted voluntarily through our general enquiry contact form. This includes:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The message you have chosen to send us
This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry. It is not shared with anyone, not used for marketing, and not retained beyond 12 months.
Employers Who List Opportunities
When an employer or organisation submits an opportunity listing, we collect the contact details they provide (name, email address, phone number and organisation details) for the sole purpose of managing their listing and communicating with them about it. This information is not shared with students or any third party.
Website Analytics
We use standard, anonymised analytics to understand how people use our site — for example, which pages are most visited and how students find opportunities. This data does not identify individual users and is not linked to any personal information.
Accessibility Preferences
If you use our large text, dyslexia-friendly font or high contrast settings, your preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required to operate the website. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or any third-party marketing cookies.
AI-Generated Content
Some opportunity listings are generated automatically using Claude AI (by Anthropic). No personal data is used in this process. All AI-generated listings are clearly labelled on the site.
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Contact form enquiries: deleted after 12 months
- Employer listing contact details: retained for the duration of the active listing plus 6 months
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at bothwell.jones@valueplacement.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

This website uses HTTPS encryption. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any personal data we hold. However, no method of internet transmission is entirely secure.
