You’ll be the first point of contact for our gym members, working on the front desk handling day-to-day receptionist duties. Your main responsibilities will include processing new memberships, managing cancellations and upgrades, answering member enquiries, and booking members into fitness classes using our booking system. You’ll also help keep the reception area clean and tidy, greet members warmly as they arrive, and sometimes assist with admin tasks like filing and data entry. It’s a fast-paced environment where no two days are quite the same, and you’ll often be multitasking between answering phones, helping walk-in visitors, and managing the booking system.

This role will develop your customer service skills massively — you’ll learn how to handle enquiries professionally, deal with complaints calmly, and work under pressure during busy times. You’ll gain hands-on experience with gym management software and become confident using various computer systems. You’ll also build teamwork skills by collaborating with personal trainers, class instructors, and other reception staff. These are transferable skills that employers across all sectors value, and you’ll get direct experience in the fitness industry which could lead to further opportunities.

This is perfect for you if you’re friendly, organised, and enjoy working with people. Whether you’re considering a career in fitness, hospitality, or just want to earn money while gaining valuable work experience, this role is ideal. You’ll be in a busy, energetic environment that keeps you motivated, and you’ll meet lots of different people every shift. It’s a great stepping stone for further education students looking to build their CV and earn at the same time.
