Requirements

BTEC Level 3 Hospitality and Catering (or similar). Age 16-19. Genuine interest in hospitality, food, and fitness. A reliable, professional attitude. You don't need prior kitchen experience — just enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Tip: Use the Dy button in the top bar for a dyslexia-friendly font, or A+ for larger text.

Work in a high-spec gym kitchen and help serve members at a 24-hour fitness venue — the perfect stepping stone into hospitality and the fitness industry.

You’ll split your time between the fresh kitchen and the front desk at a premium gym with its own chef and in-house kitchen. In the kitchen, you’ll shadow the chef, help with food preparation under supervision, and learn real food hygiene and safety in a busy working environment. On reception, you’ll welcome members, help with customer service, and see firsthand how food and drink fit into a thriving fitness business.

You will develop practical kitchen skills, learn food safety and hygiene standards, and build customer service confidence. You’ll also gain insight into how hospitality works in the fitness and leisure sector — a growing industry with loads of career options. These are exactly the skills employers look for when you leave college.

This placement is perfect if you’re thinking about a career as a chef, kitchen manager, hospitality manager, or even running your own food business. It’s also ideal if you want to work in the fitness industry and understand how food and customer experience drive a modern gym business.

Note: 365 Gym takes only a small number of work experience students each year, so they review every application carefully and interview shortlisted candidates. Show genuine interest, reliability, and a professional attitude — that’s what will make you stand out.
