About this apprenticeship

Supervise and provide support for children, including those with special needs, by the use of specialist curricular/learning skills, training, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.

Assist in the class by carrying out activities which is designed to increase skills, understanding and knowledge in particular with children having specific, significant and challenging needs.

Establish productive working relationships by acting as a role model and setting high expectations.

Support children consistently while recognising and responding to their individual needs.

Encourage children to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.

Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

All staff are expected to act in a professional manner at all times. 

All members of staff have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom they are responsible, or with whom she/he has contact. 

Training

Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
Undertaking Paediatric First Aid training as required
Your training will be 1 day a week at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, there might be an opportunity to be offered a full-time position. This will be reviewed by you and your employer at the end of your apprenticeship.
