About this apprenticeship

To learn all aspects of the role of a Maintenance Engineer 
To attend college to learn the theoretical and technical aspects of the role  

General Activities: 

Assist in maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual & efficient operations 
Support periodic & preventive maintenance regimes 
Assist with emergency troubleshooting & maintenance support 
Achieve maintenance goals, activity scheduling & work completion to support achievement of manufacturing target 
Keep accurate records of key work activities 
Work with engineers to find ways to improve processes 
Assist with projects within or outside the Engineering Department 

Training

Duration:

13 months practical training period, plus 3 months for End Point Assessment

Delivery model:

Work-based training with your employer
Day release during term time (approximately 2 days a week for 1 year)
Approximately 12 on-site assessment visits per year
Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English (7 days at college for each, if required)
Off the job training will count for at least 6 hours a week of an apprentice’s time at work

Qualifications included:

Level 1 Functional Skills in English and maths
Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)
Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship

What you could go on to do

We are looking for the apprentice engineer to go on to become a fully qualified engineer within our engineering team
There is great potential to continue further study onto Level 3+ and continue a career with the business
