About this apprenticeship

General driving duties as required within the UK and Europe in any class of vehicle up to that permitted by the driving licence
Vehicle checks in line with the Staff Handbook & the reporting of defects and all accidents/incidents and near-hits
Loading and unloading vehicles ensuring correct equipment is loaded and all goods are checked, secure and fit for transit
Delivery, offloading, positioning and installing as required for various customer jobs
Manual handling, carrying, lifting and installation as required of customer equipment
Maintaining and cleaning of vehicles as required
Completing delivery paperwork, timesheets and other paperwork as required for each job
Maintain the standards of the company as defined in ISO9001 and ISO14001
You may be required to undertake other tasks in line with the needs of the business
Responsible for escalating training needs on an on-going basis
Keep your taco and driver card download up to date within the company requirements

Training

On the job training delivered by the employer.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3.
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training.
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop.
Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities.
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps.

What you could go on to do

Full time driver once licence has been achieved.
